Engineering Intern

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Engineering Intern will assist the product development team in bringing products to launch and improving our current product offerings. An intern in this role will assist in CAD, development of prototypes, market and vehicle research, and various projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Conduct modeling in CAD Software
  • Analyze product instructions for revision and update as needed
  • Develop product presentations
  • Conduct market research and analysis for new products
  • Troubleshoot product and installation issues and identify proactive solutions
  • Develop and test product prototypes
  • Research and source supplier partners for new and current products
  • Assist the product development team in the various stages of product launches and planning
  • Research vehicle compatibility and update compatibility guides as needed
  • Develop wire harness drawings for the production team
  • Assist on various projects as needed, proactively working with other departments to meet deadlines
  • Assist in harness building and vehicle installation as needed
  • Other task and duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current student studying Mechanical Engineering, Product Design or Development, or related field
  • Strong interest in vehicles and automotive safety
  • Hands-on experience with computer aided design
  • Comfortable working hands-on with prototype parts and vehicles
  • Fabrication and tooling experience preferred
  • Willingness to learn new skills and processes
  • Ability to collaborate with other teams within the company as well as any suppliers
  • Project management experience preferred
  • Excellent computer skills with knowledge of word processing and spreadsheets; experience with Google Drive preferred
  • Excellent written / oral communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Highly resourceful with skills in problem-solving and critical thinking
  • Strong self-starter with leadership and decision making skills.
