What You’ll Do:
Our Process Engineering internship provides an exciting opportunity to help design and implement a functional database system to track the usage and refill of the tooling needed on production lines. Working closely with teams from PITT, Production, and Product Engineering, you’ll learn to develop systems and standard operating procedures while collaborating in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment. This internship offers hands-on experience in cross-departmental negotiation and problem-solving, with the goal of reducing costs and improving the availability of tooling, consumables, and auxiliary tools. It’s a great chance to contribute to operational efficiency and gain valuable skills in systems development and process optimization.
What You’ll Need:
- Pursuing a degree in Engineering (General, Manufacturing, Electrical, Process)
- Rising Senior
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage various tasks and projects with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to build positive relationships and work collaboratively with a diverse team
- Knowledge of procurement
- Knowledge of time and movements study
- Familiarity with computer software (manly excel, databases and MS word)
- Initiative and eagerness to contribute to projects and tasks
- Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills
- Ability to effectively communicate issues and solutions to all levels of the team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Compensation:
- $22.00-$27.00 per hour, commensurate with relevant experience and educational background
Work Hours/Length of Program:
- The internship will run for 12 weeks from May to August
- Temporary Part/Full Time, targeting 40 hours per week
- Exact start and end dates are flexible based on school schedules and the needs of the business
- This is a paid internship
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
This position is based in our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility and involves working in a manufacturing environment/general exposure to a manufacturing environment. The environment may involve exposure to noise, temperature fluctuations, or other factors. Employees are required to abide by PPE guidelines when onsite.
- Successful completion of a drug screening and a physical exam are required for this role
- This position involves regular walking, standing, sitting for extended periods of time, hearing, and talking.
- May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
- May involve close vision, color vision, depth perception, focus adjustment, and viewing computer monitor for extended periods of time.
- Involves manual dexterity for using keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
- May involve moving or lifting items up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in a manufacturing setting
