Civic Thought and Statecraft Fellowship
The Civic Thought and Statecraft (CTS) Fellowship is a ten-week program for undergraduates and recent graduates interested in political philosophy, civic virtue, and the practice of statecraft. Hosted by The Institute of World Politics (IWP), the fellowship builds on IWP’s long-standing mission of preparing principled leaders for careers in national security, intelligence, and international affairs.
Program Highlights:
Civic Thought Seminar: CTS Fellows will attend a weekly seminar to read, reflect on, and discuss a foundational text in political philosophy in order to explore, engaging fundamental questions concerning of civic life, especially in the context of contemporary American politics.
National Security Education: Fellow will also participate in a variety of activities designed to deepen their understanding of national security, international affairs, and intelligence, such as guest lectures, war games, workshops, site visits, and other professional development opportunities.
Scholarships: Fellows receive a $3,000 per semester scholarship toward IWP’s M.A. programs, with additional merit-based aid available.
Eligibility:
- Open to undergraduates and recent graduates (not yet in a graduate program) who:
- Are in good academic standing (minimum 3.2 GPA).
- Have completed introductory coursework in history, political science, economics, or international affairs.
- Demonstrate interest in civic thought, strategy, and IWP’s mission.
Location
All programs are conducted in person at IWP’s Washington, D.C. campus. Please note that the Institute of World Politics does not offer remote internships.
