Mechatronics Intern

Fabri is a high-tech startup building the next generation metal casting foundry.  The foundry industry is in trouble in the United States and Fabri’s solution is to quickly produce high-quality parts using advanced software, process control, 3D printing, robotics and specialized casting equipment.  We’ve built our foundational capability and now need to grow our team of engineers/interns to accelerate our technical progress.

If you want to hone your technical skills with a challenging hands-on role at a hard-tech, early-stage startup, consider applying for the “Mechatronics Intern” role for either Spring or Summer 2026.

In this role, you’ll work closely with Fabri’s engineering leads and the rest of the team to improve both our automation and process control.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design and build electro-mechanical equipment in a real-world foundry environment
  • Take ideas or projects from an initial design on a breadboard to a PCB in a short period of time
  • Learn as you go, such as working with an unfamiliar sensor or communication protocol
  • Solve problems whether it be a mechanical or electrical solution

You'll need experience with micro-controllers, hands-on assembly and electrical wiring. It would be ideal if you have been on a robotics team (or comparable) and/or worked in these areas.

This is a unique opportunity to learn by doing, contribute directly to core systems, and gain experience in a startup setting. Ideal for students studying mechanical or electrical engineering, robotics, or manufacturing.

To comply with ITAR registration regulations, candidates for this role must be US nationals (i.e. citizens or lawful permanent residents) to be considered.
