Marketing Intern

SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Director of Client Growth – Business Development and assigned mentor, and according to established Firm policies and procedures, the intern performs a variety of functional and administrative duties. The intern will work collaboratively with team members on specific short- and long-term projects related to their field of study and the functional areas within the department. Activities will be assigned by the based on business needs, exposure opportunities, and professional development opportunities relevant to the intern’s interests and course of study.

 

INTERNSHIP ELIGIBILITY: The BT R.I.S.E. Internship Program is designed to introduce students in specified fields of study to the day-to-day operations of a law firm. Candidate’s skill, knowledge, aptitude, and education will be considered during the selection process. To be eligible candidates must:

  • Have completed their foundation year (at least 24 credits)
  • Enrolled in a 2-4 year undergraduate degree program at time of internship
  • Available to participate for 10 consecutive weeks

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Support assigned department to deliver meaningful work that advances business initiatives.
  2. Collaborate with team members on focused projects, data input, data analysis, process documentation, substantive assignments, and recordkeeping.
  3. Participate in internal and external meetings to gain exposure to standard business protocols, professional comportment, and substantive areas related to the department functions and the intern’s field of study.
  4. Observe confidentiality in all client and firm matters.
  5. Collaborate with other departments and interns, where applicable
  6. Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  1. Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university program to receive college course credits.
  2. Pursuing a degree in fields of study that aligns with functions within the Client Growth and Marketing Department. Suggested relevant fields of study include marketing, marketing technology, data analytics, psychology, communications, journalism, and writing-intensive majors that require critical thinking skills.
  3. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when performing work functions.
  4. Ability to proofread typed material for contextual, grammatical, typographical or spelling errors.
  5. Strong interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate in person, by email, phone, and virtually.
  6. Ability to follow instructions effectively from a diverse group of clients, attorneys, and staff.
  7. Provide timely and accurate information with ordinary courtesy and tact.
  8. Ability to operate standard office equipment, including personal computer, copiers, phones, and scanning equipment. Fluency in MSOffice Suite desired. Familiarity with tools such as Canva and ChatGPT would be helpful.
  9. Ability to work collaboratively and independently.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  1. Onsite work required.
  2. Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like.
  3.  Specific work hours for this position will be assigned; generally, core business hours.  The requirements may vary occasionally, depending on the needs of the firm.
