Seeking current students interested in gaining practical experience in client onboarding support, documentation, and health IT in general.
• Position: Public Health Intern
• Duration: January 2026- August 2026
• Part time, working 15 – 29 hours/week
• Location: Remote, based in Michigan (Eastern Time Zone)
• Wage: $15/hour

The company is currently not authorized to support remote work employees in the following locations: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, California, Delaware, Idaho, Massachusetts, Montana, Nebraska, Utah, Wyoming. 

The student internship program accepts international students with up-to-date work authorization for off-campus employment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Onboarding Support (Business / Information Systems)
    • Apply principles of project management and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) to assist in coordinating the onboarding process for new clients, ensuring smooth integration of software solutions into organizational workflows.
  • Meeting Coordination (Communications / Business Administration)
    • Develop organizational and communication skills by scheduling and facilitating client-facing meetings, preparing agendas, arranging logics, and ensuring stakeholder readiness.
  • Meeting Participation and Documentation (Professional Writing / Business Communication
    • Strengthen note-taking and technical writing abilities by participating in client meetings, documenting key decisions, and translating discussions into actionable items.
  • Documentation Management (Information Systems / Technical Writing)
    • Gain experience in knowledge management by updating and maintaining technical documentation related to software features, client specifications, and project milestones.
    • Work with CRM tools like Hubspot and Jira ticketing queue to best prioritize work items for clients.
    • Utilize prior knowledge with public health to work with MDHHS immunization and electronic reporting infrastructure.
  • Customer Support Liaison (Communication Studies / Business)
    • Enhance interpersonal and problem-solving skills by serving as a first point of contact for client inquiries, providing professional responses and keeping customers informed about recent developments and future steps.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration (Computer Science / Business Analytics)
    • Develop cross-team communication skills by collaborating with software development, quality assurance, and product management teams to relay customer insights and contribute to ongoing product improvements.
    • Assist with the training of new teammates on tasks as needed.
    • Collaborate cross functionally with integration and sales to contribute to internal and external standing meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program in Public Health, Health Informatics Computer Science, Business Analytics, Customer Service or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of with public health concepts required
  •  Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) is preferred.
  • Thrives working independently with little oversight
  • Be legally eligible to work in the US and off-campus.
  • Must work from the US. International work is not allowed.
  • Pass a criminal background check.
  • Interest in healthcare information technology as a career path.
  • Experience or strong interest in key responsibilities listed above.
  • Ability to effectively build rapport in a remote working environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with acute attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and familiarity with digital tools like Zoom, Jira, and Confluence, or similar.
