Security Engineering Intern

Security Engineering Intern   

The Office of the CTO and Security team set the strategic technical direction of the company while keeping both Illumio and our customers secure. Those who join us represent the leader in Zero Trust Segmentation and maintain Illumio’s competitive advantage by exploring new technologies while collaborating with Engineering and Product Management.  

As a Security Engineering Intern, you will be responsible for securing our products, using a combination of review, assessment, testing, and automation. You’ll gain real-world exposure to Illumio’s security products, learn about the latest advancements in vulnerability management, and understand how to manage security operations at scale.  

 

What You’ll Do:   

Gain in-depth knowledge of our core security products and how they help organizations manage risk and protect critical assets in a Zero Trust environment  

Participate in rotations across multiple key security areas: 

Understand how to identify, assess, and remediate vulnerabilities across diverse environments. 

Learn how security operations are run at scale, including incident detection, response, and management. 

Deep dive into Zero Trust Segmentation and its critical role in protecting networks, endpoints, and data.  

Contribute to identifying security gaps and help define projects aimed at improving threat containment and vulnerability management processes  

 

What You’ll Bring:  

Currently enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity or a related field with an expected graduation date in Winter 2026/Spring 2027.  

Strong interest in security operations, threat containment, vulnerability management, and Zero Trust architecture.  

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.  

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.  

A passion for learning and continuous improvement.
