CEI Materials is a nationwide, full service provider of Architectural Cladding Systems and Components. We work with architects and installers to ensure their retail, commercial, or industrial buildings look and perform exactly how they designed them to. Our expert designers, engineers, fabricators, and installers take pride in achieving the highest standards set by both our customers and ourselves.
Job Summary: The Assistant Estimator will be responsible for assisting in project estimating for architectural cladding projects by reviewing architectural drawings, specifications and related documents. Including quantifying scope (takeoffs), submitting and collecting material quotes (RFQ), assist in proposal preparation and submittal and other administrative duties within the sales and estimating department.
Essential Functions:
- Assist by perform accurate, high quality takeoffs.
- Effectively complete, prepare, and present takeoffs to upper level estimators for proposal preparation.
- Maintain and update CRM data based on present status, notes and stage of opportunities.
- Effectively partner with departmental and companywide team members to accurately quantify materials and labor costs.
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents and specifications.
- Manage multiple projects at the same time and develop priorities independently.
- Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Strong communication and presentation skills – both oral and written
- Effective communicator with various levels of customer’s management
- Competent in MS Office, MS Excel, Outlook, and Bluebeam.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, self-starting and motivated
- Ability to work without strict guidelines and structure.
Working Conditions: General office environment. Involves significant time sitting and working at a computer keyboard and on the telephone. Also involves walking, stooping, and bending.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Basic understanding in a related industry, or field of education, current or past.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Creative problem solver
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Commercial construction experience a plus.
