
Electrical Engineering Intern
Job Summary:
This intern will work with the team in the Design Engineering Department to perform testing, simulation and worst-case analysis on various prototype products under development. Under the supervision of senior or lead engineers, the intern will assist in the development of test procedures, test set up, documentation, data analysis, and different electrical analysis that need to be completed.
Expected Outcomes:
The intern will:
- Gain an understanding of automotive ADAS electronic modules
- Gain an understanding of how to perform worst case analysis
- Gain an understanding of the life cycle of an engineering project.
- Experience hands on troubleshooting of prototypes.
- Experience writing documentation regarding test results
Education, Experience and Skills:
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and completing third or fourth year of coursework.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Demonstrated electrical aptitude.
- Experience coordinating and facilitating several small or one major project.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Very good organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to work independently while provided with proper direction.
- Experience with PCs and application software, such as MS Office tools, electrical simulation tools (Simetrix, SPICE), MathCAD (or familiarity with other computer based math tools).
- Experience using tools such as: Oscilloscopes, Multimeters, LCR meters, function generators.
- Experience using Intrepid (Vector tools preferred) but not required.
- Experience using soldering iron or hot air knife.
Additional Notes:
- Physical Demands: Sitting and standing for extended periods of time in an office and industrial lab environment. Capable of lifting equipment and apparatus repetitively weighing up to 50lbs. Dexterity of hands, fingers, and wrists to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other computer components.
- Work Environment: Hybrid remote work, minimum 3 days in office per week, is allowed but must be able to physically be present in the office/lab when duties dictate the need.
