Sports Fall Intern
The Sports Intern will be part of The Dallas Morning News’ award-winning high school sports staff. Reporting assignments will include a mix of daily and enterprise coverage, with opportunities to cover college and professional sports as well as general assignment work.
Weekend work is required.
You will also be expected to:
- Actively use social media in the news-gathering process.
- Take smartphone photos or video as needed.

- Contribute to published work across digital and print platforms.
- Gain valuable experience covering live events and developing enterprise stories.

- Selections Announced: By December 31, 2025

- Must be enrolled in college and working toward a degree (associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctorate) or have graduated within six months prior to the internship start date.
- Must include a cover letter, résumé with references, and 3–5 published clips. Applicants may also include 1–2 photos or a short video sample to showcase visual or multimedia storytelling.
- Reliable transportation is strongly preferred.
- Samples must be legible and clearly labeled; incomplete applications will not be considered.
