Summer Intern - Analytical Chemistry

About the Role:

We’re looking for a Summer Intern - Analytical Chemistry on the Research Team to help us expand what’s possible for patients with serious diseases. In this role, you will be reporting to the Sr Scientist, Analytical Method Development.

The Insmed Summer Internship Program gives students an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a corporate environment in the pharmaceutical industry, receive mentoring from highly skilled professionals, and work on dynamic team projects. Our 2026 Summer Intern program is a full-time (40 hours per week), paid internship. The internship may present opportunities for rotational assignments within the function, and the intern will be assigned goals and objectives that will support the strategic business plan of the company.

 

What You'll Do:

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to learn and use first-in-class analytical science and technology to help transform the lives of patients living with serious and rare diseases.

You’ll also: 

Develop and optimize UPLC methods to support compounds screening.

Conduct analytical chemistry techniques such as UV-vis, Chiral HPLC, LC-MS, HPLC-UV/PDA, UPLC-CAD.

Process, analyze, and interpret complex datasets to generate insights that support decision-making.

Maintain proper documentation of experimental procedures and results via electronic laboratory notebook. 

Prepare mobile phases, buffers and other materials to support on-going experiments.

Present scientific data and key findings at internal research meetings. 

 

 

Who You Are:

You are a current student working on a Bachelor's degree in Analytical Chemistry or a similar field.
You are or you have: 

Strong hands-on experience in Liquid Chromatography, including LC, LC/MS, LC/CAD

Detailed oriented, a high degree of organization and time management skills.

Strong verbal and written communication skills. 

Ability to work collaboratively and efficiently in a team environment, while also taking initiative independently.  

 

Nice to have (but not required):  

Master’s degree  

Good sample preparation skills 

Prior Experience with LC/MS or chiral chromatography

 

Where You’ll Work  

This role is based out of our Bridgewater, NJ RDL and requires full-time, in-person presence to support hands-on collaboration, access specialized equipment, and/or operational needs.  

 

Pay Range:

$20.00-35.00 Hourly
