About Us
At Dynamic Conveyor Corporation, we understand that every customer is different — each with their own facility, processes, preferences, and goals. That’s why we don’t offer cookie-cutter solutions. As an innovative conveyor manufacturer focused on engineered solutions, we combine off-the-shelf equipment with out-of-the-box thinking to solve complex material handling challenges in the food, manufacturing, and packaging industries.
For over 30 years, our passionate and invested team has been designing durable, reconfigurable, and energy-efficient conveyor systems that reduce maintenance costs and increase productivity. Behind our products is a culture grounded in collaboration, respect, quality, integrity, adaptability, accountability, and innovation — values that guide everything we do.
Now, we’re looking for the next generation of problem-solvers to join us.
Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Engineering Intern to support the development of a fully functional conveyor configurator within Autodesk Inventor using iLogic to automate the design and customization of conveyor models. The goal is to streamline the engineering process, reduce repetitive design tasks, and improve accuracy and response time for custom conveyor requests.
In this role, you will help bring our custom conveyor configurator to life by assisting the Lead CAD Engineer in the implementation of this project. This internship is ideal for a college student pursuing a degree in engineering, drafting, or a related field who is eager to gain hands-on experience in a collaborative, real-world environment.
Project Goals
-
Automate Conveyor Design
Enable engineers and sales staff to quickly generate 3D conveyor models and 2D drawings based on key input parameters (length, width, belt type, drive location, etc.). -
Standardize Components and Options
Enforce standard design practices by limiting selections to approved components, reducing variation and simplifying manufacturing. -
Reduce Engineering Time
Reduce design time for configurable conveyor systems from hours/days to minutes by automating repetitive modeling tasks and file management. -
Improve Sales-to-Engineering Handoff
Provide a user-friendly interface for sales and application engineers to define conveyor specifications that automatically generate models, drawings, and BOMs.
What You’ll Do
- Revise and update existing Inventor 3D models and assemblies.
- Ensure existing 3D model accuracy, clarity, and compliance with company and industry standards.
- Organize and maintain engineering documentation and drawing files.
- Control suppression/activation of parts and features
- Update component sizing and placement
- Generate custom part numbers and descriptions automatically
- File Management & Vault Integration
- Implement structured file naming conventions
- Integrate with Autodesk Vault to manage versions, lifecycle states, and release workflows
What We’re Looking For
- Currently enrolled in an Associate’s or Bachelor’s program in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting Technology, or a related discipline.
- Familiarity with CAD tools such as Inventor, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Vault, or similar platforms.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Basic understanding of mechanical components and manufacturing practices.
- Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Eagerness to learn and contribute to real engineering projects.
What You’ll Gain
- Real-world experience working on custom-engineered conveyor systems.
- Exposure to the design-to-manufacture process in a modern industrial setting.
- Mentorship from skilled engineers in a team that values innovation and quality.
- Opportunity to work in a value-driven organization that prioritizes your growth.
- Potential pathway to full-time opportunities after graduation.
- This is a paid internship. Compensation is commensurate with experience and academic level.
- Flexible start/end dates and work schedule.
