Development Operations Intern
Development Operations Intern
Join the Development Operations Department as an intern! Duties include: assisting with specific research and data gathering projects, providing staffing support during major donor events, and providing administrative support to the team as needed. Interns are encouraged to join all department activities and meetings.
This is a great opportunity for the intern to enhance their skills in organization, multitasking, and communications while learning more about non-profit structure, including mission, and staff collaboration. The intern will gain technical training by assisting with prospect research, brainstorming creative methods for data visualization, data entry and wayfinding using our donor database, Tessitura. In addition to the duties above, the Development department works with interns to create specific projects that align with their academic pursuits and personal interests. These projects are essential to creating a meaningful internship experience.
Internship Qualifications:
College student with excellent written and oral communication, planning and organizational skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong interpersonal skills and precise attention to detail are required. The intern may provide additional support for some weekend and evening events. Must be computer literate and have knowledge of and ease with Microsoft Office. Experience conducting online research preferred.
The Spring Internship Program will run from January 22 to April 27, 2026, or an agreed upon end date with the hiring manager. A mandatory in-person orientation will be held at the museum on Thursday, January 22, 2026, from 10 AM to 4 PM. Interns are also required to participate in professional development sessions, typically held on Thursdays through April 16th. Please note that session times are subject to change, and some sessions may be conducted in a hybrid format.
This internship provides a $2,000 stipend and requires the completion of 180 hours, which includes participation in professional development programming. This equates to approximately 15 onsite hours per week over the course of twelve weeks. All internships are fully in person and take place on site.
