2026 Summer Intern - Communications


Job Description

CIBC’s Summer Internship Program is a dynamic, 10-week experience (June through August) designed to complement your academic training and support your career aspirations. As a Communications intern, you will:

 

Learn: Gain hands-on experience by supporting the communications team in organizing and delivering impactful messaging that advances the strategic goals of the US Region and its lines of business/functional groups. Contribute to the planning and timing of communications across relevant channels and assist in managing digital assets to enhance communication strategies.

 

Connect: Build your network by collaborating with colleagues across the bank, engaging with fellow interns, and interacting with executive leadership.

 

Grow: Benefit from mentorship, leadership support, and community outreach initiatives, while developing essential soft and hard skills to advance your future career.

Who You Are

Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree, with an expected graduation date between December 2026 and June 2027 in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field

Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

Strong teamwork and partnership mindset

Thoroughness in execution and follow-through

Strategic and forward-thinking approach to problem-solving

Conceptual thinker with the ability to connect ideas to actionable solutions

Minimum 3.0 GPA

Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills

Authorized to work in the U.S.

Exceptional writing and creative thinking abilities

Collaborative team player with a client-focused approach

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected hourly rate of $25.00 per hour for the State of Illinois market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position.
