About Hemmy Productions

Hemmy Productions is an independent film and media company developing the feature film For Love of the American Dream and its sister documentary-interview series Spotlight: Voices of the Dream.

The Spotlight series celebrates influential artists, musicians, and activists who use their voices to shape culture.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Development Intern to assist in packaging Spotlight: Voices of the Dream for studio presentation to Imagine Entertainment and other major production companies.

This internship offers a unique opportunity to learn firsthand how to prepare a professional pitch for a high-profile entertainment company — from creative concept through presentation materials.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the producer to refine the series concept and pitch deck.
  • Help organize the creative treatment and packaging language for potential network submission.
  • Research industry trends, similar formats, and studio submission protocols.
  • Assist with layout, visual structure, and summary writing for the series pitch materials.
  • Help manage digital materials for creative, legal, and investor readiness.

Learning Outcomes / Experience

Interns will gain real-world experience in:

  • Series Development & Packaging: Understanding how ideas move from concept to studio-ready presentation.
  • Creative Producing: Working directly with a producer on professional studio pitch materials.
  • Industry Research: Learning how to position projects for major entertainment companies.
  • Credit & Recognition:
    • Website credit under the Spotlight: Voices of the Dream team.
    • Professional LinkedIn/Resume credit (“Development Intern — Series Packaging”).
    • For students who contribute significantly to the pitch materials, optional acknowledgment as “Packaging Assistant” in studio submissions.
(For example: “Series concept and packaging prepared by Hemmy Productions in collaboration with [Student’s Name].”)

Qualifications

  • Film, Television, Media Studies, Communications, or Entertainment Business major (or related field).
  • Strong writing, visual, or organizational skills.
  • Interest in producing, development, or entertainment management.

Perks

  • Flexible hours; remote work.
  • One-on-one mentorship with Producer Tessa Kendall McKenzie.
  • Exposure to the real Hollywood pitching process — with materials destined for Imagine Entertainment.
  • Professional reference and career guidance at the end of the internship.

Application Instructions

Please submit:

  • Resume
  • Short statement (2–3 sentences) about your interest in producing, development, or storytelling.
