Maritime Summer 2026 Intern

DNV Maritime Region Americas is seeking a Summer Intern to join our highly competent Team in Katy, Texas, to support both local and international projects (Class as well as verification projects). This internship is projected to start in Summer of 2026.

What You'll Do

  • Learn and apply DNV methods to improve business performance, focusing on either:
    • Classification of Floating Offshore Units & Ships – Review and approve design, construction and operation of mobile offshore units and ships of various types
    • Certification of Equipment and Materials for the Offshore Industry – Review and approve design, construction, testing and commissioning of equipment and skids for offshore oil & gas applications
    • DNV uses a 70-20-10 approach to education, so you will learn from experiences, lectures, and being mentored by experts in the industry.
  • Learn how to be a competent and confident professional

What is Required

  • Junior/Seniors pursuing Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or Naval Architecture with strong analytical and mathematical skills
  • A passion for the company’s objective to safeguard life, property and the environment
  • Strong technical skills and interest in industry
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • Coding experience (JAVA, Python) preferred, but not required
  • Must have a reliable and secure internet connection and good telecommunication skills
  • We conduct pre-employment drug and background screening
