Wolf Educator Internship

Position: Wolf Educator Intern-Summer term

Location: International Wolf Center, Ely, Minnesota

Duration: May 18, 2026 - August 23, 2026 (dates may be flexible to accommodate academic calendars and programming needs)

Hours:40+ hours per week including work on evenings, weekends, and holidays

Stipend: $1,000 per month (off-site housing is included)

Responsibilities:

• Conduct wolf education and natural history programs for the public and groups
• Teach large and small groups as well as answer wolf and natural history questions from visitors
• Lead occasional interpretive hikes and field trips
• Respond to wolf information inquiries by phone and e-mail
• Create projects for the education department as assigned
• Other duties as assigned
• Please note: Due the nature of our socialized pack, interns do not have direct contact with ambassador wolves

Qualifications:

• BS/BA or coursework in environmental education or related field
• Enrollment in a college or university
• Teaching experience / experience working with the public
• English fluency and effective communication skills in working with people of all ages
• High level of self-motivation and enthusiasm
• CPR and First Aid Certifications and valid driver’s license required
• Authorization to work in the United States required
