Wolf Educator Intern Year-long
Position: Wolf Educator Intern – Year-long term
Location: International Wolf Center, Ely, Minnesota
Duration: August 3, 2026 – August 29, 2027 (dates may be somewhat flexible to accommodate academic calendars and programming needs)
Hours:40+ hours per week including work on evenings, weekends, and holidays
Stipend: $2,000 per month (does not include housing)
Responsibilities:
- Conduct wolf education and natural history programs for the public and groups
- Teach large and small groups as well as answer wolf and natural history questions from visitors
- Lead interpretive hikes and field trips
- Assist in program development for people of all ages
- Respond to wolf information inquiries by phone and e-mail
- Create projects for the education department as assigned
- Other duties as assigned
- Please note: Due to the nature of our socialized pack, interns do not have direct contact with ambassador wolves.

Qualifications:
- BS/ BA or three years’ coursework in environmental education or related field
- Teaching experience / experience working with the public
- English language fluency and effective communications skills in working with people of all ages
- High level of self-motivation and enthusiasm
- CPR and First Aid Certifications required and valid driver’s license required
- Authorization to work in the United States required
