Art Director Internship

The successful candidate will support the creative team in the concept development, design, and execution of visual campaigns across digital platforms. Working closely with copywriters, designers, and social media strategists, the intern will help translate brand identities into compelling, contemporary visual content that resonates across audiences. Based on the skills, goals, and work ethic of the successful candidate the following responsibilities may be included:

• Assist in developing creative concepts and visual direction for digital and social media campaigns
• Create and adapt visual assets for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and LinkedIn
• Support the art direction for photoshoots, videos, and branding projects
• Collaborate with designers and copywriters to ensure a consistent and engaging visual identity
• Research current social media and design trends to inspire creative strategy
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute fresh, innovative ideas

Based on the interns work ethic and dedication, they may gain some of the following outcomes through hands-on experience working in a professional communication and branding agency

• Understand the role of art direction in building brand presence across digital and social media channels
• Learn how to balance creativity with strategy in a collaborative team environment
• Develop a portfolio of high-impact creative projects

All candidates will be asked to provide a portfolio in order to been seen for an interview

On-site Supervision and Support

Our internships include 24/7 on-site staff to support students working and living abroad. All students will also report to a supervisor at their internship site. Supervisors provide and oversee daily tasks, introduce the intern to team members, and mentor the intern in organizational agility, skill acquisition, and career readiness. Interns complete a midpoint and final evaluation, and supervisors complete a final evaluation of their interns. All work responsibilities and projects are approved in advance. 

Academic Credit

Students on an internship have the opportunity to enroll in their home university for credit, or enroll in a course through API to transfer back to their university for credit. Email support-internships@apiexperience.com for more information and a syllabus.
