Video Journalist
POSITION RESPONSIBILITES
We are seeking a passionate and talented Video Journalist to join our team. This role presents an exciting opportunity for individuals with a strong interest in journalism, storytelling, and video production. The Video Journalist will play a crucial role in creating engaging video content that aligns with our editorial standards and resonates with our audience.
Responsibilities
- Research and Story Development:
- Conduct thorough research to develop compelling story ideas and angles for video content. Collaborate with editors and reporters to ensure accurate and informative storytelling.
- Video Production:
- Produce, shoot, and edit video content, including news reports, feature stories, interviews, and documentaries.
- Use video editing software and equipment to create polished and professional videos.
- On-Field Reporting:
- Conduct on-field reporting, interviews, and coverage of events relevant to our audience.
- Audience Engagement:
- Monitor video performance metrics and audience feedback to inform content decisions and optimizations.
- Engage with viewers through social media platforms and respond to comments and feedback.
- Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Collaborate closely with the editorial and multimedia teams to coordinate video content and projects. Participate in editorial meetings and brainstorming sessions to develop creative ideas and strategies.
Qualifications
- A degree in journalism, Communications, Film Production, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience as a Video Journalist, Videographer, or similar role in a newsroom or media organization.
- Strong storytelling skills and a keen eye for visual storytelling techniques.
- Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools. Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced news environment. Knowledge of journalistic ethics, standards, and best practices.

ADDITIONAL BENEFITS:
On-site Supervision and Support
Our internships include 24/7 on-site staff to support students working and living abroad. All students will also report to a supervisor at their internship site. Supervisors provide and oversee daily tasks, introduce the intern to team members, and mentor the intern in organizational agility, skill acquisition, and career readiness. Interns complete a midpoint and final evaluation, and supervisors complete a final evaluation of their interns. All work responsibilities and projects are approved in advance.
Academic Credit
Students on an internship have the opportunity to enroll in their home university for credit, or enroll in a course through API to transfer back to their university for credit. Email support-internships@apiexperience.com for more information and a syllabus.

Housing and excursions are included in your internship and will be selectable during the application process.
