Sales and Business Development Associate
As a Sales and Business Development Associate you will be at the forefront of driving revenue growth and expanding our business opportunities. Your primary responsibilities will include client acquisition, media partnership development, email communication, research on relevant topics, and staying updated with current trends in the industry. Your strong communication skills, proactive mindset, and ability to identify and capitalize on opportunities will be essential in achieving our sales and business development objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Acquisition
- Identify and target potential clients through proactive outreach, networking, and lead-generation activities. Research to understand client needs and preferences. Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of prospects to achieve sales targets.
- Media Partnership Development
- Identify and cultivate partnerships with media organizations, influencers, and industry leaders to expand our reach and enhance brand visibility. Collaborate with internal teams to negotiate partnership terms and develop mutually beneficial agreements.
- Email Communication
- Develop and implement email marketing campaigns to engage prospects, nurture leads, and drive conversions. Craft compelling email content and tailor messages to address specific client needs and interests.
- Research on Topics
- Conduct thorough research on industry trends, market dynamics, and relevant topics to stay updated with current events and developments. Use insights to identify opportunities for business growth and tailor sales pitches and proposals accordingly.
- Communication Skills
- Communicate effectively with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders through various channels, including email, phone calls, and in-person meetings. Build and maintain strong relationships to drive business success.
- Update with Current Trends
- Stay abreast of current trends, news, and developments in the media and publishing industry. Monitor competitor activities and market changes to identify opportunities and anticipate challenges.
Requirements
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, building rapport, and establishing trust with clients and partners.
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive emails, proposals, and presentations.
- Ability to conduct thorough research and analyse data to inform decision-making and strategy development.
- Proactive mindset and ability to work independently to achieve sales targets and business objectives. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Preferred)
- A degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).

On-site Supervision and Support
Our internships include 24/7 on-site staff to support students working and living abroad. All students will also report to a supervisor at their internship site. Supervisors provide and oversee daily tasks, introduce the intern to team members, and mentor the intern in organizational agility, skill acquisition, and career readiness. Interns complete a midpoint and final evaluation, and supervisors complete a final evaluation of their interns. All work responsibilities and projects are approved in advance.
Academic Credit
Students on an internship have the opportunity to enroll in their home university for credit, or enroll in a course through API to transfer back to their university for credit. Email support-internships@apiexperience.com for more information and a syllabus.
