The International Sibling Society, a 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit with partnerships across 190+ countries, is seeking a Data Analytics & Research Intern to help measure, analyze, and optimize the performance of the issNOW.earth platform across all four modules during the 2026 rollout.


As a Data Analytics & Research Intern, you will collect, analyze, and visualize data to track key performance indicators (KPIs), evaluate user engagement, and generate insights that inform strategic decision-making. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in data analytics, research methodology, data visualization, and impact evaluation.

 

What You'll Do:

You will design and implement data collection systems, analyze platform usage data, conduct user surveys and focus groups, and create data visualizations and reports to track progress toward the plan's success metrics. You will work collaboratively with all module leads to ensure data-driven decision-making throughout the rollout.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement data collection systems to track user growth, engagement, and retention metrics
  • Analyze platform analytics data using Google Analytics, SQL databases, or similar tools
  • Create data visualizations and dashboards using Tableau, Power BI, Google Data Studio, or similar tools
  • Generate monthly and quarterly reports tracking KPIs for all four modules
  • Design and administer user surveys to measure satisfaction, usability, and impact
  • Conduct qualitative research including user interviews and focus groups
  • Analyze survey and interview data to identify trends, insights, and recommendations
  • Support A/B testing to optimize user experience and conversion rates
  • Monitor platform performance metrics (uptime, page load times, error rates)
  • Collaborate with module leads to set data-driven goals and track progress
  • Prepare data visualizations and presentations for board meetings and funder reports
  • Ensure data privacy and security compliance (GDPR, CCPA)

Qualifications

Required:
 

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a bachelor's degree program in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Business Analytics, Social Science Research, or related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written communication skills with ability to present data insights clearly
  • Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a remote environment
     

Preferred:

  • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Google Data Studio)
  • Proficiency in SQL or database query languages
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis software (R, Python, SPSS, Stata)
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics or web analytics platforms
  • Experience designing and analyzing surveys (Google Forms, SurveyMonkey, Qualtrics)
  • Understanding of qualitative research methods (interviews, focus groups, content analysis)
  • Previous internship or project experience in data analytics or research
  • Familiarity with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and impact measurement frameworks

 

Position Details

Location Type: Remote (work from anywhere)
Schedule: Part-time (15-20 hours per week, flexible scheduling)
Duration: 12 weeks (with possibility of extension based on performance and funding)
Start Date: Flexible (rolling admissions with cohort start dates in February, May, and August 2026)
Compensation: Unpaid internship with professional development benefits and ACADEMIC CREDIT on your college transcript (subject to university approval)

 

Time Commitment Breakdown:

  • Data collection and analysis: 6-8 hours/week
  • Survey design and administration: 2-3 hours/week
  • Data visualization and reporting: 4-5 hours/week
  • Research and evaluation projects: 2-3 hours/week
  • Team meetings and collaboration: 2 hours/week
