HR Internship

Role: HR Co-Op/Intern/Trainee

 

 

Job Purpose

The Human Resources Intern will perform a variety of services as outlined and back-up for other areas outlined herein, as well as, policy/procedure interpretation and administration, employee relations, counseling, investigations, FMLA and ADA compliance and record keeping.

 

The position can be part-time or full-time based on student class schedule. 

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities/Deliverables:

•    Greet employees, answer employee inquiries and / or refer them to the appropriate person.
•    Assist with New Hire Orientation and on-boarding
•    Make employee badges
•    I-9 entry and compliance
•    Enter and modify employees in various HR systems
•    Create and maintain personnel folders
•    Assist with attendance policy
•    Conduct interviews for various positions
•    Assist HR department with data entry and collection
•    Update COVID-19 boards
•    Maintain manpower reports
•    Maintain emergency contact list
•    Provide back-up within the department and perform other duties as assigned

Competencies:

•    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, policies and procedure manuals and operating instructions. 
•    Excellent communication and organizational skills
•    Knowledge of HRIS – utilization and management
•    Word, Excel, PowerPoint experience is a must
•    Ability to maintain composure under various levels of pressures, stress, and fast paced activities
