We are currently seeking a motivated, detail-oriented intern to join our team and assist with a major initiative: updating and improving book titles, subtitles, metadata, and discoverability across our catalog. This is a hands-on opportunity to learn the inner workings of modern book marketing and digital publishing.
What You’ll Do
As part of this internship, you’ll work closely with our editorial and marketing teams on a structured project that mirrors real-world industry workflows. Tasks include:
Metadata Review & Research
Audit existing book listings on Amazon and other platforms
Gather and analyze comparable titles and category competitors
Keyword & Category Research
Use publishing tools to identify high-traffic search terms
Develop keyword sets that support title optimization and marketing strategy
Title & Subtitle Development
Brainstorm and refine new title/subtitle options based on research
Present options with rationale rooted in audience insights and market positioning
Book Description Updates
Assist with rewriting and optimizing marketing blurbs
Learn how to incorporate SEO principles into compelling copy
Data Organization & Workflow Management
Maintain spreadsheets tracking keywords, categories, metadata, and title updates
Support a larger team project that touches multiple imprints
This internship is ideal for students interested in editorial work, marketing, digital publishing, or the business side of books. You’ll leave with concrete portfolio pieces and a clear understanding of how publishers position books for online visibility and success.

Academic Credit Requirement
