Event Planning Intern

We are seeking a motivated college intern interested in gaining hands-on experience in the event industry. The Packard Proving Grounds, a historic automotive landmark and nonprofit organization, hosts weddings, corporate events, fundraisers, community programs, and large-scale public shows. This internship provides the opportunity to work directly with the Events Manager on planning, coordination, vendor relations, client communication, logistics, and day-of event execution in a fast-paced, historic venue environment.

Minimum requirements include being currently enrolled in a college program related to hospitality, communications, event management, marketing, or a similar field, the ability to work some weekends, strong communication skills, and reliable transportation. Expected responsibilities include assisting with event planning and timelines, communicating with clients and vendors, supporting setup and teardown, helping manage onsite event operations, organizing event materials, and contributing to administrative tasks as needed. Ideal candidates should be detail-oriented, professional, eager to learn, comfortable interacting with the public, able to multitask, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.

This role offers meaningful exposure to real-world event operations at a nationally recognized historic site, making it an excellent learning experience for students pursuing a career in events or hospitality.
