Purchasing Intern

Position Summary

The Purchasing Intern will support the Procurement and Supply Chain teams with daily purchasing activities, vendor coordination, data management, and continuous improvement projects. This role is ideal for a student seeking hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

 

 

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

 

  • Assist with creating and processing purchase orders in the ERP system.
  • Help track order status, delivery schedules, and follow up with suppliers.
  • Support supplier onboarding, documentation collection, and vendor record updates.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing files, pricing sheets, and inventory data.
  • Review invoices for accuracy and coordinate with Accounting on discrepancies.
  • Analyze purchasing trends, lead times, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Help evaluate vendor performance and support supplier reviews.
  • Support inventory counts and materials availability checks when needed.
  • Participate in cost reduction and process improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the Purchasing or Supply Chain Manager.

 

 

 

 

 

Required Qualifications

 

 

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and follow-up skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general office software.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professionalism when handling vendor and internal communications.

 

 

 

 

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

 

  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, UKG, or similar).
  • Prior internship or work experience in purchasing, supply chain, or logistics.
  • Strong analytical skills and interest in procurement processes.
