IT Security Intern
About the role:
Camping World is looking for interns for the summer 2026 internship season to work closely within the cybersecurity department. As an intern, you will assist with daily operations and gain first-hand experience working with IT, business units and technology tools to improve cyber security within Camping World. We are looking for someone who is driven and wants to be fully immersed in a real-world experience. If you are eager to learn and have a strong interest in cybersecurity, this is the ideal role for you.
Candidates must have the ability to work in our Chicago or Lincolnshire office on a hybrid basis (3 days in office, 2 days remote) for 10 weeks, beginning in June of 2026.
Responsibilities:
Monitor and analyze security events utilizing a variety of detection tools
Work with senior analysts to investigate security incidents and provide recommendations for remediation
Participate in security incident response activities and assist with forensic investigations
Fulfill tasks set out by supervisors within your assigned department
Attend staff meetings to remain updated on projects and changes within the department
Participate in Internship Program events
Assist in researching and preparing information as needed by your team
Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or Digital Forensics
Excellent computer science technical skills
Cumulative 3.0 GPA
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Must be diligent, organized, and extremely detail-oriented
Sufficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and strict confidentiality of company information
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to adapt to frequent priority changes
Thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with the ability to multitask and keen attention to detail
Strong work ethic with a sense of urgency to resolve issues promptly
