Legal Intern - Summer 2026 - Onsite in Dallas, TX

We are looking for a Legal Intern to support our legal counsel with matters concerning technology, data privacy, and cybersecurity. This will give you the opportunity to gain valuable experience while you integrate knowledge and theory learned in the classroom with practical application and develop your skills in a professional setting.

 

Program Overview:

Internship Description:

  • Contract Review: Assist in the review, drafting, and negotiation of technology-related agreements, including software licenses, SaaS agreements, service provider contracts, and non-disclosure agreements (NDAs).
  • Data Privacy and Security: Participate in review and guidance relating to various data privacy and security matters.  Assist in developing and updating internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Legal Research: Conduct thorough and accurate legal research on a variety of topics, including emerging technology laws, cybersecurity regulations, and compliance issues. Prepare memos and presentations summarizing findings.
  • General Support: Perform other duties as assigned to support the Legal and IT departments.

 

Qualifications:

  • Prefer candidates at the junior, senior, or graduate student level pursuing a degree in Pre-Law, Political Science or a similar major with strong communication and analysis skills.
  • Interest in learning about healthcare legal engagements supporting critical business functions.
  • Demonstrated interest in technology, cybersecurity, intellectual property, and/or data privacy law.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Strong academic record
  • Proficiency in Excel (advanced skills preferred), PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Excellent critical thinking/problem solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain high standards of confidentiality.
  • Exhibits exceptional verbal, written and interactive communication skills.
  • Demonstrates effective research tactics, good organizational skills.
  • Ability to convey a positive and professional image to internal and external customers.
  • Commits to continuous learning; being self‐motivated and self‐directed.
  • Ability to work independently with sense of urgency to task completion.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast paced continually changing business and work environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail.
