Landsports Coaching & Leadership Internship – Summer 2026

Camp Danbee is offering a Landsports Coaching & Leadership Internship for college students who want to build coaching, teaching, and leadership experience while working with girls in the beautiful Berkshires of Massachusetts.
As part of our Landsports Program, you’ll help campers grow as athletes and as people—developing skills, confidence, and teamwork in a supportive, high-energy environment. This internship is ideal for students studying Sport Management, Exercise Science, Physical Education, Coaching, Recreation, or related fields.
The Role
Interns serve in a dual capacity at Danbee:
Program Instructor (Landsports Coach)
You’ll coach and instruct campers in a variety of landsports, which may include:
- Basketball
- Softball
- Volleyball
- Soccer
- Field Hockey
- Lacrosse
- Flag Football
- General Fitness & Conditioning
You’ll run age-appropriate drills, games, and scrimmages that emphasize fundamentals, sportsmanship, and fun. You’ll also help create a culture of encouragement where every camper feels seen, supported, and challenged to grow.
Cabin Counselor (Youth Mentor)
You’ll also live in a cabin with 8–12 campers and three co-counselors, serving as a mentor and role model throughout the summer. From wake-up to lights-out, you’ll help guide campers through daily routines, build friendships, and handle the small moments that shape their experience.
Internship & Professional Development
This role is structured to support internship-style learning and skill-building. As a Landsports Coaching & Leadership Intern, you will:
- Practice coaching and teaching techniques with diverse age and skill levels
- Develop leadership and communication skills through daily work with campers and staff
- Learn to manage group dynamics, motivation, and conflict resolution
- Gain experience planning and leading progressive sports sessions and activities
- Reflect on your growth with support from an experienced leadership team
Internship credit may be available based on your college or university’s requirements. We will gladly provide documentation, evaluations, or supervision details as needed by your program.
