Position Overview:

 

The Total Rewards Intern will support the Total Rewards team in analyzing compensation and benefits programs, conducting market research, and assisting with the administration of rewards initiatives. This internship offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the strategic aspects of human resources, particularly in designing and managing programs that enhance employee satisfaction and organizational effectiveness.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Compensation Analysis: Assist in the analysis of compensation data, including salary surveys, benchmarking studies, and internal equity assessments to ensure competitive pay practices.
  • Benefits Administration: Support the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, and other employee perks.
  • Market Research: Conduct research on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to compensation and benefits, and provide recommendations for program enhancements.
  • Data Management: Help manage and analyze HR data, including employee compensation, benefits utilization, and turnover rates, to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Employee Communication: Assist in developing communication materials to educate employees about compensation and benefits programs, including presentations, newsletters, and intranet content.
  • HR Analytics: Participate in the development of HR analytics reports and dashboards that provide insights into the effectiveness of total rewards programs.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to compensation and benefits, such as FLSA, ACA, and ERISA.
  • Project Support: Contribute to special projects and initiatives within the Total Rewards team, such as annual salary reviews, open enrollment, and employee engagement surveys.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with HR business partners, finance, and legal teams to support the implementation of total rewards programs.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with large datasets and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail, particularly in data analysis and documentation.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively as part of a team, with a proactive approach to learning and contributing.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience with HRIS systems and data visualization tools is a plus.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues and propose solutions, particularly in the context of compensation and benefits programs.
  • Interest in HR: A strong interest in human resources, particularly in the areas of compensation, benefits, and HR analytics.
