IT Support Intern
An Healthcare IT Support Intern helps clinicians and staff with tech issues, supports EHR systems (like Epic/Cerner), troubleshoots hardware/software (desktops, printers, phones), manages user accounts, and learns HIPAA compliance, requiring skills in MS Office, communication, problem-solving, and often enrollment in IT/Health Informatics, with duties like ticket resolution, system setup, and documentation
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in IT, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or a related field
- Familiarity with Windows, MS Office, basic networking, hardware, and EHR systems
- Strong communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, organization, customer service, and the ability to work in a team
- Understanding healthcare environments, HIPAA, and data privacy
- Familiarity with Mobile Device Management systems
Key Responsibilities:
- Help Desk Support: Resolve technical issues for staff (in-person/remote) for hardware, software, and network connectivity.
- System Management: Install, configure, and maintain PCs, mobile devices, printers, and other IT equipment.
- EHR/Clinical Apps: Assist with user access, basic troubleshooting, and training for Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- User Support: Set up accounts, manage permissions, and provide guidance to non-technical users.
- Documentation: Maintain records, document solutions, and update knowledge bases.
- Compliance: Learn and adhere to healthcare regulations like HIPAA.
- Project Support: Assist with data analysis, system upgrades, or security initiatives.
- Mobile Device Management: Assist in securing, managing, monitoring, and enforcement of policies for mobile devices (such as smartphones, tablets, and laptops) used by employees.
