About Small Places Farm

Small Places Farm is a regenerative, community-centered urban farm committed to increasing access to fresh, seasonal produce. We host a monthly program where 15 community participants receive $200 each to spend on farm-grown fruits and vegetables. We are seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish) dietetic intern to help develop a culturally relevant and engaging nutrition education program that enhances participants’ confidence in selecting, preparing, and enjoying seasonal produce.

Position Overview

The Bilingual Dietetic Intern will play a key role in designing and implementing nutrition education resources that align with the current seasonal offerings at the farm store. This position offers hands-on experience in community nutrition, curriculum development, and farm-to-table education. The intern will work directly with farm staff to create practical, accessible tools that empower participants in their monthly shopping experience.

Responsibilities

- Develop bilingual (English/Spanish) nutrition education materials tailored to seasonal produce available at the farm store

- Create easy-to-read recipes, storage guides, and preparation tips for participants

- Assist with monthly farm-store days, engaging with participants to support their shopping experience

- Build a resource library for future cohorts, including print and digital materials

- Collaborate with farm leadership to align education efforts with program goals

- Provide input on culturally relevant foods, flavor profiles, and cooking methods

Hours & Commitment

- 10–15 hours per week

- On-site and remote 

Qualifications

- Current dietetic intern 

- Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)

- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Interest in community nutrition, local food systems, and seasonal eating

- Ability to create clear, accessible educational materials

- Culturally responsive mindset and enthusiasm for working with diverse communities
