About Us
My Baby My Way Foundation serves maternal health, youth development, and family wellness across California. Interns support our Walk of FAME statewide tour, youth initiatives, and digital communications.

Educational Responsibilities
- Edit and draft client success stories using trauma-informed, ethical storytelling guidelines
- Learn to assist Walk of FAME fundraiser participants with setting up fundraising pages and social media profiles
- Participate in supervised client communication and support
- Draft sample social media content
- Research nonprofit marketing best practices
- Help plan the communications calendar
- Participate in trainings, workshops, and reflective learning sessions
- Create sample graphics
- Support messaging for maternal health & youth programs
Remote Verification Requirement
Interns update LinkedIn/Handshake to reflect active status and post a completion announcement at the end of the internship.

$750 educational stipend upon 120 completed educational hours

This internship is educational, supervised, and intentionally designed so the intern is the primary beneficiary, meeting all Handshake internship standards and FLSA learning criteria.
Remote, part-time, and open to all students.
Learning Outcomes
Interns will gain:
- Foundations of nonprofit communication and branding
- Skills in ethical digital storytelling and trauma-informed messaging
- Knowledge of event-based marketing and the Walk of FAME statewide tour
- Proficiency in social media planning, analytics interpretation, and content strategy
- Experience crafting narratives that uplift maternal health and family empowerment
- An understanding of community engagement, donor support, and digital fundraising strategies
- Experience working with maternal health advocates, youth program leaders, and communications staff
- A professional portfolio including social media drafts, storytelling pieces, and campaign concepts
- Interns complete a final project showcasing learning and skills gained.
Educational Activities & Sample Responsibilities
(All tasks are supervised, educational, and do not replace paid staff labor.)
- Learn to edit, refine, and develop storytelling pieces highlighting client success stories while applying confidentiality, sensitivity, and trauma-informed communication principles.
- Participate in storytelling workshops covering ethical narratives, cultural representation, and nonprofit communication frameworks.
- Assist Walk of FAME fundraiser participants with setting up their fundraising pages and basic social media profiles as an educational exercise in digital engagement, participant support, and communication coaching.
- Observe and practice supervised client communication, learning how nonprofits support donors, participants, and volunteers safely and professionally.
- Research digital marketing best practices for community-based nonprofit organizations.
- Assist in drafting supervised content: captions, posts, announcements, event promotions, and educational content.
- Support planning and scheduling for the Walk of FAME Tour’s communications calendar.
- Participate in weekly trainings on branding, mission-aligned messaging, and community engagement strategy.
- Learn how target audiences are identified and engaged across maternal health, youth support, and community programs.
- Receive instruction on nonprofit graphic design principles and develop sample graphics using Canva.
- Attend weekly mentorship sessions, reflective meetings, and content review labs.
- Participate in messaging strategy labs and team-based peer reviews.
- Interns may observe and assist with outreach related to:
- Walk of FAME Fundraiser Tour (Southern & Northern California)
- Youth empowerment initiatives
- Maternal health awareness campaigns
- MyBabyMyWay.AI digital engagement
- Community partner outreach
Note: No intern is required to post promotional content on personal accounts. Posting is optional and not tied to compensation, academic credit, or performance.
Remote Verification & Completion Statement
Because the position is remote, interns must update LinkedIn or Handshake to reflect their active internship for verification, safety, and organizational accountability.
At completion, interns post a statement noting that their internship has ended to prevent misrepresentation or unintended outreach.
These steps are not marketing tasks, but professional verification requirements.
Supervision & Mentorship
Interns receive:
- Weekly supervision from a Communications Lead or Program Coordinator
- Structured feedback and guided assignments
- Mid-session and final evaluations
- Access to trainings on branding, storytelling, cultural competency, inclusive messaging, nonprofit communications, and safety protocols
Duration & Compensation
10–12 weeks
Eligible for a $500 educational stipend upon completing 120 learning hours.
Not tied to promotional activity.
Fully aligned with FLSA Primary Beneficiary Test.
Qualifications
Interest in marketing, communications, nonprofit work, media, or social impact
Strong writing, editing, storytelling, or creative interest
Responsible and consistent with follow-up
Passion for maternal health, youth empowerment, or public health messaging
CPR / First Aid Certification, provided through AHA in collaboration with MBMW.
Bilingual is a plus
