Foster Care Case Manager

The Foster Care Case Manager provides comprehensive foster care case management and permanency planning services for children and families involved in Michigan’s child welfare system. This hybrid role supports birth, relative, and foster families while also delivering direct licensing case management, placement interventions, emergency response, and training.

The Case Manager serves as an advocate and liaison for Wolverine Human Services (WHS) across court, community, and agency settings, ensuring high-quality service delivery in alignment with all licensing, contractual, and agency standards. Responsibilities include conducting family and individual assessments, completing home studies, ensuring compliance with court orders, and producing timely and accurate documentation required by DHHS, the courts, and WHS.

This position requires extensive travel throughout Michigan, adherence to confidentiality and ethical guidelines, and the ability to respond to agency and client needs on a 24-hour basis. The Case Manager participates in Quality Assurance activities, supports corrective action plans, and maintains secure and professional records. Additional duties include facilitating required meetings, utilizing WHS technology platforms, completing mandated trainings, and functioning as a mandated reporter under Michigan Child Protection Law.

Other duties may be assigned as needed to support the mission and values of Wolverine Human Services.
