Android Software Engineering Manager/Lead

TriSphere Apps is a mission-driven, volunteer-powered tech studio building real mobile apps used by real people. We’re looking for an Android Software Engineering Manager to lead our Kotlin-based Android team in a way that’s sustainable, collaborative, and human.

This role is designed to guide and support—not to carry everything alone.

What you’ll do

Lead and support a small Android development team using Kotlin

Help translate product ideas into achievable technical plans

Review pull requests and guide code quality and best practices

Mentor contributors and support skill growth

Collaborate with Project Managers on scope and timelines

Flag blockers, risks, or capacity issues early

What you won’t do

Own every line of code

Manage everything solo

Be on call

Carry unrealistic workloads

Who you are

Experience building Android apps with Kotlin

Comfortable leading or mentoring other developers

Familiar with Android Studio, GitHub, and modern Android practices

Strong communicator in a remote, async environment

Enjoy helping others learn and succeed

Time commitment
Approximately 5–7 hours per week (flexible)
