Outdoor Adventure & Ropes Course Internship
Outdoor Adventure & Ropes Course Internship – Summer 2026 in the Berkshires!
Spend the Summer of a Lifetime at Camp Danbee!
Camp Danbee is offering an Outdoor Adventure & Ropes Course Internship for college students who are interested in leadership, outdoor education, and youth development — all within the supportive and spirited setting of a traditional overnight summer camp for girls.
Located in the beautiful Berkshires of Massachusetts, Camp Danbee’s adventure program helps campers build confidence, resilience, and teamwork through challenge-based activities in a safe and encouraging environment.
The Role
This internship is a dual-role position, combining ropes course instruction with cabin-based mentorship.
Ropes Course & Adventure Instructor
You’ll help lead campers through our ropes and challenge course program, supporting activities that emphasize trust, problem-solving, and personal growth. Responsibilities include assisting with low and high-ropes elements, and creating an environment where campers feel encouraged to challenge themselves.
Prior ropes or challenge course experience is preferred but not required. Training is provided at camp, and interns are supported by experienced ropes leadership throughout the summer.
Cabin Counselor (Bunk Staff Member)
In addition to your program role, you’ll serve as a cabin counselor, living with 10–12 campers and two to three co-counselors. You’ll help guide daily routines, support campers’ social and emotional well-being, and serve as a positive role model within the cabin community.
Internship & Professional Development
This internship is well-suited for students interested in outdoor leadership, recreation, education, psychology, human development, or related fields, but is intentionally broad and open to students from many academic backgrounds.
Through daily work at camp, interns will gain experience in:
- Youth mentorship and leadership
- Group dynamics and team building
- Facilitation of challenge-based learning
- Communication, adaptability, and problem-solving

We are happy to work with your university to provide internship credit, supervision details, evaluations, or documentation as needed.
