Mercy Partnership Fund Impact Data Specialist

Launched in February 2010, Mercy Investment Services provides for the collective investment and professional management of the endowment and other investment funds of the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas and their sponsored ministries, while working for a just and sustainable world and embraces socially responsible investing as a means of promoting systemic change, with emphasis in the areas of nonviolence, racism, environment, concern for women, and immigration. Our multifaceted socially responsible investing program includes shareholder advocacy engagement with companies, proxy voting, portfolio screening and impact investing (both community and market rate investments). Engagement Responsibilities:
Under this engagement, the contractor will support Mercy Partnership Fund by providing:
Impact Measurement & Analysis
- Assisting with the collection, review, and input of survey response data into an analytic impact measurement system
- Support assuring data validation, following up with investees to clarify discrepancies
- Assist in compiling quantitative and qualitative data, including narrative responses and impact stories, to identify trends and insights
Data Management
- Support in the maintenance of accurate and organized datasets for impact reporting, while ensuring data integrity and consistency across multiple sources.
- Support in the development of data visualizations illustrating social impact
Research & Generalized Support
- Conduct research on relevant community investment topics and emerging trends in the field
- Assist in drafting and editing various communication materials
- Performing other duties as assigned to support MPF’s objectives
Position Qualifications:
Required
Solid computer, software and database skills with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat;
Experience with data analysis tools or techniques, and data visualization;
Ability to work collaboratively and/or independently on multiple projects, prioritize and take initiative to proactively identify and address issues;
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, highly organized, and ability to execute tasks in a timely manner;
Demonstrated personal integrity and a commitment to ethical principles;
Demonstrated sensitivity to and knowledge of cultural differences;
Excellent written, verbal, analytical and communication skills.
Preferred
Bachelor’s or graduate degree in social work, business administration, public administration, sociology, data science, statistics, or a related field;
Basic Proficiency with CRMs (e.g. Salesforce) and/or data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, ArcGIS, StoryMaps);
Understanding of social justice principles and commitment to equity.
Independent Contractor Classification
This role is a temporary independent contractor engagement, not an employment position. The individual engaged in this role will not be considered an employee of Mercy Investment Services and will not be eligible for employee benefits. The contractor is responsible for all applicable taxes, insurance, and withholdings and retains discretion over how the services are performed, subject to agreed-upon deliverables and timelines.
Reports to: Impact and Loan Administration Manager
Status: Independent Contractor (Temporary)
Hourly rate: $20 - $25/hour
Hours: Approximately 5-20 hours/week, based on project needs
Location: St. Louis, Missouri; Remote
Duration: February to June 2026
