Startup Finance Internship

Next Play makes games that people play while watching sports on TV. We are looking for a Startup Finance Intern to help increase the operational performance of our business. 

As a Startup Finance Intern, you will collaborate with teams across the organization to understand our business, and help the company prepare key financial statements. In this role, you will analyze financial results, monitor market trends, build pitch decks, develop financial models, and assist in our finance strategy execution.
 

This internship will help you acquire business, finance, and analytical skills while providing you with knowledge of various startup investment strategies. Ultimately, you will gain broad experience in startup investments and should be prepared to enter any fast paced work environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct market research and analysis, including valuation analyses vs. industry peers, state market share analysis, and other work as required to enable a clear understanding of our valuation and competitive position
• Perform market analysis and research on startup investment strategies
• Support the finance team in daily analytical tasks
• Prepare investor pitch deck presentations
• Help with the public relations positioning for our marketing strategies
• Help organize investor relations events
• Stay up-to-date on economic, political, regulatory, industry, and startup investment trends, and implement financial models to enable a clear understanding of our relative performance and valuation

Requirements and skills

• Strong desire to learn along with a professional drive
• Solid understanding of different startup investment strategies
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office
• Familiarity with financial computer software and investor relations applications (e.g. Bloomberg, Google Finance, Excel, OpenVC, AngelList, and Crunchbase)
• Enjoy the startup work environment
• Current enrollment (or recently graduated) in a BS, BA, or Master’s degree in the fields of Finance, Accounting, Public Relations, Communications, Economics, or related fields

We currently only offer football card games. The concept of the game is transferable to other sports including baseball, basketball, soccer, hockey, etc. We are in the process of making sports technology digital games. 

The internship offers flexible scheduling, allowing you to select the months and times that work best for you. You can use this Internship to receive school credit requirements. If you perform well, it could turn into a full-time salary with equity, and benefits. Working for a startup is a lot of fun.
