2026 Non Regulated Bioanalysis Intern (PhD)
Envision spending your summer working with energetic colleagues and inspirational leaders, all while gaining world-class experience in one of the most dynamic organizations in the pharmaceutical industry. This is a reality for AbbVie Interns.
This intern will develop chromatographic methods to increase throughput for fast PK workflows, decrease troubleshooting for problematic compounds, and reoptimize method to save on consumables (columns and solvent) for the standard throughput approach. This tailored approach should increase throughput and potentially decrease costs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Familiarize with Sciex LC-MS/MS systems, lab workflows, and project
- Develop optimized chromatographic methods using AbbVie compounds for:
- -Increased throughput (enables fast PK same day turnaround time, with same resolution as longer method)
- -Greater resolution while maintaining throughput
- -Equivalent resolution, while producing cost savings on consumables such as columns or solvent
- Summarize and present data and conclusions
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in university, pursuing a PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or other related field
- Must be enrolled in university for at least one semester following the internship
- Proficient in LC-MS based technology
Preferred Qualifications
- Expected graduation date between December 2026 – June 2027
- Proficient with Small Molecule Analytical Chromatographic Method Development
- Motivated independent candidates with good communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience or coursework in chromatography, mass spectrometry, LC-MS/MS, method development and optimization, analytical chemistry, and small molecule bioanalysis
