DBA ETL Engineer

DBA/ETL Engineer

Location: Cleveland, OH (Onsite, 5 days/week)

Type: 12 month Contract-to-Hire

 

About the Role:

We’re looking for a hands-on DBA/ETL Engineer to join a dynamic team working on our Fortune 200 retail client’s enterprise data platform. This role is critical to managing and transforming data from 5,000+ retail locations, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and scalability as we modernize our systems.

 

What You’ll Do:

• Develop and maintain ETL jobs to process data from store POS systems (SMIS, StoreKey).

• Validate and cleanse large volumes of sales and payment data for downstream consumers.

• Collaborate with the team to rewrite legacy databases and integrate with modern tools like Kafka and Databricks.

• Support DevOps initiatives, containerization, and deployment processes.

• Troubleshoot production issues and ensure data integrity across systems.

• Work in an Agile environment using Jira for sprint planning and issue tracking.

• Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet consumer needs.

 

Key Skills:

• SQL and ETL development experience.

• Familiarity with Databricks, Kafka, and DevOps/containerization.

• Strong understanding of data validation and integration patterns.

• Experience with Java and messaging systems like MQ.
