As the Graduate Assistant for Human Resources Talent Acquisition supports the recruitment lifecycle by coordinating interview scheduling, conducting initial phone screens, and assisting with onboarding processes. This role partners closely with the Talent Acquisition Specialist to ensure a smooth, efficient, and positive candidate experience. The position also helps maintain accurate recruitment records and supports day-to-day hiring operations. This role is a two-year position with the expectation of successful graduation from Carroll University with a Master's Degree.

 

Responsibilities:

 

• Act as front-line for Human Resources, take general recruitment inquiries and provide assistance to constituents including: applicants, candidates and employees.

 

• Process pre-employment checks and new hire paperwork.

 

• Serve as a lead related to adjunct onboarding and adjunct contract management.

 

• Establishes and maintains strong partnerships with internal customers including but not limited to: Talent Acquisition Specialist, Hiring Managers, Benefits Specialist, HR Business Partners, Director of Human Resources and University Counsel to develop recruiting plans, and cost effective recruitment strategies and professional and positive interactions with stakeholders.

 

• Assist in the full-life cycle hiring process for hourly and salaried positions including phone interviews, onsite interviews, reference checking, etc.

 

• Assist in the collaboration in the planning and execution of on-campus events.

 

• Attends recruitment job fairs and serve as a representative of the university.

 

• Facilitates weekly new employee orientations.

 

• Administrative duties such as answering phones, filing, creation of employee folders, and assembly of benefits packages

 

• Audit compliance paperwork in new hire files

 

• Maintain files, photocopies, completes data entry and manages data within HR/Payroll system.

 

• Leverages a variety of recruiting resources, social media and internet space to find top talent (such as search engine optimization, Boolean searches, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and other social media platforms).

 

• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

 

Qualifications:


 

Education and/or Experience:

 

• Bachelor's degree is required

 

• Previous experience in human resources is preferred

 

• Previous experience working in higher education is preferred

 

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required; experience with databases is a plus

 

• Maintain full time status in an eligible Carroll University graduate program is required (tuition is fully waived for the following graduate programs: Athletic Training, MBA, Exercise Science, Master of Education and Master of Arts in Teaching).

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

 

• Ability to work in a fast pace environment

 

• Self-motivated and detail-oriented; strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving abilities; ability to work independently as well as on a team; flexibility

 

• Customer service experience is strongly preferred

Term of Employment:
