Cybersecurity Engineer Intern

About the Team

Workday’s Security Organization is a group of dedicated professionals passionate about protecting our customers and the company. We serve as the principal security advisors to the business, collaborating with various internal teams—from Legal and Compliance to Product Development and Business Technology—to build and maintain a secure environment.

About the Role

As a Cybersecurity Engineer Intern, you will join a team of experienced security professionals. This is a hands-on role where you will contribute to the safety of Workday's technologies, from our applications and services to our underlying infrastructure.

You will gain valuable experience by:

  • Delivering security into Workday's technologies and ensuring security is a core component of how we build and operate.
  • Assessing and reviewing the security of technical architecture and enterprise applications.
  • Developing and deploying tools and automation to improve security across the Workday platform.
  • Collaborating with business and technology teams to resolve security concerns and remediate risks.

Basic Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a similar degree program.
  • Anticipated graduation date no earlier than December 2026.
  • Available for a full-time in-person 12-week internship for the Summer of 2026 in Pleasanton, CA and you will return to your university program after the conclusion of the internship.
  • Have basic knowledge of security principles, systems, and networks through coursework or relevant project experience

Other Qualifications

  • Familiarity with a variety of security concepts, such as threat intelligence, data protection, and vulnerability management.
  • Knowledge of common security tools and technologies such as CrowdStrike, Qualys, Atlassian (Jira & Confluence), or ServiceNow.
  • Experience with scripting languages like Python or Ruby to write scripts or review code for vulnerabilities.
  • Familiarity with cloud provider services such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
