ABOUT THE Division
General description
We’re looking for a summer intern with a strong desire to learn from our Mainframe Technical Support team in Information Technology division. This team performs several different and unique functions, from assisting others with technical issues, supporting the mainframe application change control product, to creating reports and making them ready for presentation. Tasks include reviewing performance reports, providing mainframe change management support, compiling monthly reports, researching, and preparing for comprehensive quarterly reports, while gaining technical knowledge and skillsets. This position is part of a team of those who are collaborative, supportive, knowledgeable, dedicated to their craft and desiring to share their knowledge. You would be ideal for this position if you are willing to work hard, think logically, and are creative in developing solutions. You should already have a basic knowledge of mainframe skills, are a self-starter, detail oriented, can focus on the task at hand, manage your time for several number one projects, and work well with a team.
Work Hours
Works hours are 8:00AM to 5:00PM, 40-hour week, Monday – Friday. Occasionally work overtime and/or additional hours based on business peaks. Hours may change based on business need.
Teleworking may be considered if certain working conditions are met. The candidate must be able to meet in office requirements, which can vary among different sections (i.e. report to office 1 day/month, 3days/week, etc.). Travel reimbursements are not provided for teleworking.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled as a Junior or Senior at an accredited four-year college or university, or a recent graduate within one year, with a major in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field.
• Knowledge of mainframes, including languages, such as COBOL, Natural, REXX, etc. and/or JCL
In this role you will:
• Assists with the development of Mainframe Reporting that includes study findings, recommendations and instructions for proposed system implementations.
• Assists in formulating logical descriptions of problems, and devising and implementing optimum solutions.
• Provides supports on activities for mainframe related assignments, communicating with management and other team members in a timely and effective manner.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
