Job Responsibilities:

 

Position Summary

The Paint Process Intern will support paint process engineering and robotic operations in a manufacturing environment focused on continuous improvement. This internship provides hands-on exposure to robotic programming, process optimization, and quality systems while working closely with engineering, maintenance, and production teams.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support paint process and maintenance activities in alignment with departmental goals and expectations.
  • Assist with problem-solving initiatives in a continuous improvement–focused work environment.
  • Participate in identifying, recommending, and implementing solutions using error-proofing techniques to help prevent product, process, or quality nonconformities.
  • Assist in the development and optimization of robotic path motions and operating parameters for new product launches and existing paint programs.
  • Support initial setup and adjustments of robotic pathwork, application parameters, carrier density, and part orientation to optimize transfer efficiency.
  • Communicate and collaborate with robot technicians on process- and equipment-related issues.
  • Coordinate with paint line personnel to support process improvement projects as directed by the Paint Process Manager.
  • Perform additional duties and learning assignments as needed.
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Automation, Robotics, or a related field.
  • Interest in robotic automation, paint processes, or manufacturing systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based manufacturing environment.
  • Basic understanding of quality systems or continuous improvement concepts is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to learn in a hands-on setting.
