Electrical Engineer Internship

Position: Electrical Engineer Internship
Job Status: Nonexempt-hourly
Location: Bend, OR

THE ROLE 

Turn your classroom knowledge into real‑world impact.

As an Electrical Engineering Intern, you’ll work alongside experienced professionals on meaningful projects that shape communities. You’ll gain hands‑on exposure to planning, design activities—building practical skills, confidence, and a clearer vision for your future in civil engineering. Morrison-Maierle provides civil engineering design and consulting for projects related to transportation, airports, industrial, municipal infrastructures, water, land development, environmental, survey, planning, CAD, and buildings, focused on structural, mechanical, electrical, and information communication technology system design.

These responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with design teams to support project tasks.
  • Learn how architectural plans translate into project design work.
  • Work in RIVIT design software to build power system components such as circuitry, equipment power plans, lighting plans, and fire alarm plans within the building design
  • Provide support with construction observation and site inspections to understand how design work comes together.
  • Build knowledge of electrical engineering power systems and how it integrates with design and consulting practices.
  • Develop a solid understanding of electrical engineering principles within a consulting engineering environment.
  • Gain hands-on exposure to engineering teams and construction methods.
  • Learn safety standards, field protocols, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Strengthen communication skills through regular collaboration with engineers, project managers, and contractors.

 

 

YOUR STRENGTHS

  • Currently pursuing a four-year degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Self-starter with a willingness to learn
  • Insurable driving record
