Public Relations Intern

As a Public Relations Intern, you’ll help tell the story of the Hagerty brand through the people and cars that drive it. You will collaborate across a variety of departments and gain a strong understanding of the Hagerty brand, how the business operates, as well as build experience in earned media and social media landscapes as a platform for storytelling.

What you’ll do 

Events 

  • Support media credentialing for owned events such as The Greenwich Concours, Motorlux and RADwood 
  • Guide media and respond to inbound media requests 
  • Look for and achieve story placements opportunities  
  • Assist team with event logistics and coordination  

Media Communications 

  • Support press kit management: document editing, file management and photo selection 
  • Assist External Communications team with press release optimization, newsroom management 
  • Develop material to send to reporters related to holiday gift guides and routine communications 
  • Research and list building for target media 
  • Develop media recap reports and analysis 

Social Media 

  • Develop programs to welcome new media attendance and coverage  
  • Research and list building for target influencers

  • Strong writing skills including both factual and persuasive writing 
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • Interest in, or openness to, the world of classic and enthusiast vehicle operation, care, and culture 
  • Skilled at problem solving 

 

Other things to note

  • This position will run from May to September 2026
  • This position is open to U.S. remote work. However, team members who reside within 20 miles of the Traverse City headquarters will follow a hybrid schedule, working from the office three days per week. 
  • Familiarity with public company requirements, including Sarbanes Oxley and key regulations, if applicable. For SOX compliant roles, responsible for designing, executing, and documenting internal controls where they have been identified as owners to prevent errors in financial reporting, processes, and business operations. Including attestation to the completeness, accuracy, and compliance of all financial reporting data, where applicable.
