Year-Round Tax Intern

FORVIA is looking for a year-round Tax Intern for its headquarters in Auburn Hills, Michigan

Overall responsibilities and duties:

The year-round Tax Intern supports the North America Tax team at Forvia during a fast paced and educational internship experience. This role is designed for students who want hands on exposure to corporate, federal, and state tax processes while developing technical, analytical, and professional skills. Interns will work closely with experienced tax professionals and contribute to various internal projects.

The main missions of the role are:

  • Assist in data gathering and preparation of various tax workpapers and documentation for tax provision reporting as well as tax compliance purposes (e.g. fixed assets reconciliations, permanent and timing tax adjustment analysis, etc.)
  • Support tax research projects by gathering data, reviewing regulations, and summarizing findings
  • Assists in preparation of all returns related to corporate income tax, state and local tax, franchise and excise tax, US property tax and sales and use tax
  • Assist in preparation of all information reporting processes
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned

Experience:

  • Previous internship experience in Accounting/Finance is preferred, but not required
  • 1-3 years Accounting, Tax, Finance, courses

Skills & Competencies:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, etc.)
  • High attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask effectively and meet deadlines
  • Excellent attitude towards manager/supervisor, employees
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain predictable and regular attendance, arrive timely at assigned location ready to work on assignments (corporate office or remote)
  • Commitment to the highest ethical standards and willingness to adhere to Forvia’s Code of Ethics and Code of Management
