This position serves as a Tax Data Warehouse Analyst, supporting Illinois Department of Revenue (IDOR).
In the Tax Data Warehouse Analyst role, you will coordinate and conduct complex application development using GenTax and Microsoft SQL programming language for the database design, program design, and the supplied GenTax tools for testing new processes.
In addition, you will serve as a project technical lead for a full-range projects including large hardware/software deployments and installation while independently planning, developing, and implementing techniques for gathering and interpreting data.

Essential Functions
• Under administrative direction, serves as a Tax Data Warehouse Analyst for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) supporting Illinois Department of Revenue (IDOR) in performing complex professional and advisory functions in Application Services.
• Serves as a mentor and subject matter expert (SME) to GenTax Data Warehouse and Research team members.
• Serves as a project technical lead for a full-range major/complex projects including large hardware/software deployments and installation.
• Serves as a primary support for scheduled and remedial maintenance to the assigned applications.
• Keeps abreast of new developments in the information technology field by continuing education through online training platforms, meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures.
• Analyzes and recommends new procedures and techniques to improve the supported application systems.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
• Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to four (4) years of college with course work in computer science or directly related fields.
• Requires three (3) years of professional experience in Application Services or a related Information Technology field.
Preferred Qualifications
• Three (3) years of professional experience in object-oriented application development within GenTax Integrated Tax System, leveraging GenTax tools for complex program design, testing, implementation, and ongoing maintenance, including data warehouse-related components.
• Three (3) years of professional experience developing and maintaining applications using Microsoft SQL, C#, VB.NET, including advanced database management, application programming, system analysis and business process analysis to deliver efficient, secure and scalable solutions.
• Three (3) years of professional experience working with electronic transfer utilities and Federal Tax Information (FTI) ensuring compliance with security standards, performing security reviews, implementing data protection controls, and supporting secure data storage and access within a data warehouse environment.
• Working knowledge of Audit, Collections, Interfaces and Discovery modules within the GenTax System, with demonstrated ability to analyze and optimize integrated processes.
• Ability to coordinate and lead complex technical projects, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality results through effective planning, prioritization, and collaboration.
• Developed verbal and written communication skills, with a track record of presenting technical concepts clearly and precisely to diverse audiences, including end-users and technical teams.
• Extensive knowledge in the design and implementation of Object-Oriented Application Design using advanced methodologies and best practices.
