Title: Bell Labs Radio Systems 6G Intern
Duration: 10 Weeks
Date: June 1 – August 7, 2026
Location: On-site in Murray Hill, New Jersey
Breakthroughs that would help to greatly improve wireless communications are critically important for the success of 6G. We are devoted to establishing fundamentals and proposing game-changing, high-impact technology solutions and disruptive radio connectivity concepts.
We are seeking highly self-motivated talents with strong machine learning, signal processing, and wireless communication backgrounds to work on various challenges in communication systems, including but not limited to new algorithms and concepts for the physical layer, compression, (de)coding, (de)modulation, wireless channel modelling, feedback, radio resource management, and radio sensing.
EDUCATIONAL RECOMMENDATIONS
Ideal candidate will be pursuing a PhD degree in electrical/electronic engineering, computer science, applied mathematics, or related fields, with experience in wireless communication, signal processing, and machine learning. Minimum GPA 3.0.
Your responsibilities
As part of a team, you will
- Identify the state-of-the-art of the proposed project
- Apply relevant analysis and propose potential solutions
- Compare against legacy benchmarks, and provide performance evaluation and recommendations
- Document all the technical details, make internal presentations
- Write an internal technical report for potential conference/journal publications.
- It is desirable that the internship work to be of sufficient quality to warrant publication.
Your skills and experience
- Excellent background in wireless communication and signal processing
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Work independently as well as inside a collaborating team
- Good programming skills
- Good track record in scientific publication
