AI/ML Engineer (full time and internships)
AI and machine learning at Dahlgren go beyond apps and simulations.
Our teams apply AI/ML to real-world combat systems, sensor data, and modeling efforts to support decision-making and system performance in demanding environments. The focus isn’t on hype—it’s on reliability, trust, and mission impact.
This opportunity is open to students seeking hands-on experience and graduating seniors seeking an entry-level, full-time role. In both cases, you’ll work alongside engineers and scientists applying AI/ML where performance and accuracy truly matter.
If you’re interested in AI that moves from theory into real systems, this is where algorithms turn into action.
What You’ll Work On
Depending on your background and experience level, you may support:
- Applying machine learning to sensor and system data
- Data preprocessing, feature extraction, and analysis
- Developing, training, and evaluating ML models
- Supporting modeling and simulation efforts
- Algorithm validation, testing, and performance assessment
- Integrating AI/ML solutions into larger systems
- Documenting results and technical findings
- Collaborating with software, systems, and domain experts
Assignments are scaled to your academic level and skills.
